NUNOUS has two characterisitcs of both leather and fabric.
Also it can be processed by die cutting as well as it is double sided.
So there is a great possibility for it's usage from a wallet, a bag, and other various apparel items.

NUNOUS makes people think for themselves about the mass disposal,
and upcycles it to be spotlighted in the center stage.
Also reducing CO₂ for Global warming.

Reborn of the out of standard materials

Out of standard textile materials are very hard to recycle, and in most cases it was chipped or burned, in means of disposal. NUNOUS approaches the problem by upcycling the materials without spoiling it's feel and color. We make the “Unseen Disposal” to be “Beautifully Visible”. By doing so, we connect the disposal with the companies and people in a new style.
Leather like fabric

The edge of the materials never fray like the fabric, so there is no need for the edge treatment and you can free-cut for production. It can even be used without any stitches for production as well. It is not a substitute for leather, but a totally new material with the taste of leather.
Double sided and transparency

There is no right side up for this material, but can be used on either side. It can also be made extremely thin for higher transparency.
A pattern that resembles abstract paintings and natural stones

It is all one of a kind pattern like that of nature. Also it has the strength and durability to withstand the industrial standard.

材料になる布について

1： NUNOUSの材料になる布の形状は、反物やシート状の織物です。

2：ニットや、いわゆる裁断屑は、今のところNUNOUSにすることが製法上不可能です。申し訳ございません。

3： NUNOUSの材料に適している組成は綿やT/Cです。

4： PET100%やウール混、シルクなどの織物でも試作実績はあります。金属繊維は不可です。詳しくは、お問い合わせください。

Color, pattern, and texture:

Colors and patterns may vary greatly from product to product due to the color and characteristics of the raw material cloth.
Since the type of cloth used as raw material affects the texture, the texture may vary greatly.
NUNOUS features standard colors, however, colors may vary slightly as we use non-standard materials that are available at the time. We ask our clients to verify the color at the time of ordering and provide prior approval of the actual products. We do not accept any returns based on color, pattern, and texture.
We also accept order requests for non-standard colors. We will suggest a color that is closest to your desired color from the non-standard products. We are able to reflect your corporate colors and theme colors.

Cautions on composition, design, and usage

This product does not fall within the scope of the Fire Service Act (spandrel walls, accent panels, surfaces and finishing materials for furniture, fixtures, and displays) since NUNOUS has not been certified for non/quasi-incombustible material so please use it accordingly.
Using our product in an environment which exceeds 70℃ may cause softened biopolymer as it is extremely soft.
Water permeates into our product. Please consider a surface application, such as painting, as may be necessary.
Discoloration and fading cannot be prevented. The color may transfer due to friction.
The product has the equivalent strength of plywood of the same thickness.
Please check the above characteristics in advance based on your intended use.

About what looks like scratches and stains:

The raw material for NUNOUS is nonstandard fabric with defects such as scratches and uneven dyeing. Therefore, the surface of the NUNOUS may have flaws such as scratches and uneven dyeing by substandard textiles, or thread fragments that were mixed during the reclaiming as NUNOUS.
Please understand that these are one of the features of the product.

Workability

STONE can be cut using woodworking tools and devices.
SKIN can be sewn or cut using tools for leather processing and devices.
Paint and resin can be applied over the product. Please test on the material in advance as painting will cause change in texture and color.
You can also print on the product. Please test on the material in advance to verify compatibility with the ink and equipment.
Though various types of glues can be used depending on the intended purposes, please be sure to apply firm pressure to guarantee adherence. When using an adhesion method, please test in advance to check the strength and quality of the adhesion that is used and also compatibility with the adhered material.

Patterns on NUNOUS

NUNOUS is manufactured by layering hundreds of fabrics and infusing them with a biopolymer. Due to the soft nature of fabric, NUNOUS becomes slightly undulated and warped even when layered flat.
Undulation and warping remain even after being pressure-molded, which appear as a pattern when cut horizontally.
No single patterns are the same.
